A site for sore eyes
This site is not to do with Hythe in Hampshire, but in case your interested here is some information
Hythe is a village in Hampshire nestled between the Eastern side of the New Forest and the Western bank of Southampton Water.
Hythe's main claim to fame is being the home to one of the longest piers in the country. Because of its length there is a railway right to the end. The pier's main user is the Hythe to Southampton Ferry.
It is also the place where Sir Christopher Cockerel invented, developed and constructed the first Hovercraft. Sir Christopher once lived in a bungalow on the waterfront, where he died on June 1st 1999. There is a memorial in the adjacent park.
